1.Why did Babuli feel guilty and sad throughout the story?
2. Babuli’s wife was very excited to learn about the partition just contrary to her husband who 
    was quite perturbed .Why ?
3. Imagine you are Babuli.You receive your eldest brother’s letter informing you about the partition
    and asking you to reach village.You are shocked to learn about the unexpected event.Write a letter
   to your brother expressing your feelings .
4. The eldest brother tells his mother about Babuli’s tribute to him. She is overwhelmed to learn about it.
    She writes a page of diary expressing  her feelings for Babuli. Write the diary.

                    A Christmas Carol
1. How did Scrooge keep the Christmas spirit alive? Give examples.
2. What is the role of the three ghosts in converting Scrooge into a reformed man?
3. Imagine you are Ebenezer Scrooge.You are very happy to see the change in youself.

Suggested Writing Skills for class IX & X

1) Your school is going to conduct an Eco Club Induction Programme. As the President of the school’s eco club you are supposed to address the members of the club. Write your speech addressing the newly elected          members emphasizing on ‘Green your school and your habitat’
2) September 8 is the International Literacy Day. Write an article for a magazine expressing your views about ‘Quality education in India is a dream or reality’.
3) The monsoon is posing a threat of Malaria and Dengue in Delhi. It has become a serious concern  As a responsible Delhite write a letter to the editor of a local newspaper cautioning the common people against the diseases and also aware them of their duty in this regard.  
4) You are living in a rented house which needs some repairs. Therefore, as Sumit Narang write a letter to your landlord, Mr. Anmol Negi asking him to undertake the repair work immediately.
5) Menu’s neighbour has lost his legs in an accident while he was driving on Ring Road. She is so concerned about increasing number of accidents on Delhi roads that she wants to write an article to aware the people about causes of accidents and to avoid road rage. Write an article on ‘Licence to Drive Is Not a Licence to kill’.
6) 'Teach India Campaign' and programme The Times of India aims at bringing together children in need of education and people who can contribute towards teaching. Write a speech about this programme inviting the students to be the part of the campaign.(class X)
7) The monkey menace in your locality has so much increased that children, young and old, everybody is scared to step out of the house. Write a letter to the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Delhi to
draw his attention and also request him to help the local residents to get rid of the menace.
